We are William and Richard Noortman, two brothers who are passionate about sport. We founded Play a Champion in 2021 because we understand the dream of playing against your own sporting hero, and we set to work to make it happen. With a few friends, William kicked off with an unforgettable game against his hero, world squash champion Ali Farag, raising substantial funds for charity
We realised that Play a Champion has the power to drive our other shared passion: helping accelerate research into effective treatments for schizophrenia, a devastating and complex mental illness. Richard is a sufferer of schizophrenia and knows how it can steal quality of life. Sport is Richard’s most powerful ally in his battle to beat the condition
We established VOICELESS, an initiative to raise funds to drive cutting edge scientific research. Our ambition is to help achieve 100% effective treatment through improved medication and therapies. VOICELESS is not a charity, nor a Foundation. It represents our ambition to beat schizophrenia. We are alert to global research projects, and would direct a Play a Champion sponsor to channel their donation directly to an approved project
Generous Sponsorship gives you the Game of a Lifetime
Contact Play a Champion to plot your dream sports moment. You may want to construct and place your perfect bid at a charity auction of choice. We can respond to a range of routes and a wide choice of sports. The moment can be a gift, mark a key celebration, or the pure self indulgence of a burning ambition that won’t leave you alone
We operate discreetly, observing strict confidentiality through fertile networks to create and execute the event. The event is strictly tailored to requirements, logistics, and sportsperson’s conditions
The sponsor donation is divided equally between the Champion’s choice of charity, and a VOICELESS approved schizophrenia research project. The donation funds are made directly to the Champion's charity and to the research project, by the sponsor
We’ve already got the ball rolling
Three lucky people guaranteed a minimum bid to play an unforgettable game of squash with World Number 1 Ali Farag and two friends at The Bath and Raquet Club, London. Everyone had dinner afterwards at George Restaurant in Mayfair. And £18,000 was raised
Let's get the game going!
